The latest Multi-User version of I-Trap made its debut recently at the well-attended PacPrint show in Melbourne Australia. "I was very pleased to work with Michael Malone, MD of GrafikaLinks in their booth showing I-Trap working in the full multi-user configuration with their new Presstek/AB Dick platesetter!" - Says David Lewis, President Lucid Dream Software, Inc. "It was also a pleasure to have Compose Systems showing their implementation as "Express Trap" in the Currie booth!" With this new version comes the full multi-user capability along with additional ink controls. Now you can install the main "Trap Server" onto your Rip station running the Harlequin Rip versions from 5.5 through to the newest Genesis 7 release on either Mac OSX or Windows. Then you can install unlimited remote client stations running either Mac OSX or Windows as well. Jobs can then be sent to the Rip station for either local automatic in-rip trapping or to an Interactive queue. Once jobs go through interactive queues they load automatically into the remote client stations. From here the job can be viewed with a very impressive set of viewing and trapping tools. Opening, zooming and panning are almost instantaneous even working over slower networks. Trap on the Fly lets you preview how the trapping will be done and how changes to trap parameters will affect the job. Ink Remapping has been greatly enhanced in this new version! Not only can you remap inks so that similar named inks can be mapped together or inks converted to spot or process - but now you can also Delete inks entirely and change the output order of inks! In addition you can now also control the rip overprint settings on a job-by-job basis using the options in the ink control window. Once these settings are made a simple click of a button sends the job back from the remote Viewer to the Trap Server where ink remapping and final trapping is applied and the job is ready for output. Lucid is also pleased to announce that we have doubled the size of the development team working on I-Trap! We have so many great ideas of new and exciting features to add that we had to increase our development resources significantly!
